Fridays with a Twist: Berry Margarita

Get into that Friday Feeling with this Berry Margarita from Chick-a-Biddy, perfect for front porch sipping.

Berry Margarita

Simple Syrup

1 C. granulated sugar

1 C. hot water

Mix until combined and sugar is completely dissolved.

Berry Sauce

2 ½ C. berries of your choice (I did a mix of blueberry and strawberries)

½ C. jam (we used cherry, but any berry jam will work)

1/3 C. granulated sugar

¼ C. water

Cut bigger fruit into smaller pieces. Place berries, sugar and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil, immediately reduce heat to medium-low. Add the jam and stir to combine. Simmer on low heat for about 7 minutes. With a potato masher or wooden spoon, mash fruit to break apart. (Be very careful! Mixture is extremely hot!) Simmer another 2 minutes. Cool and store in fridge.

BONUS: This is great on everything! Crepes, ice cream, toast, pancakes and waffles…

Berry Margarita

2 oz. tequila

¾ oz. lime juice

¾ oz. simple syrup

1 T. berry sauce

Start by rimming a glass with lime juice and salt or sugar. Fill with a little bit of ice (not too much, we won’t be straining out our ice today!) and set aside. Place all ingredients into a shaker tin and top with ice. Shake vigorously until the outside of shaker is very cold (About 30 seconds). Pour into rimmed glass. Garnish with lime or berries. ENJOY!
