CHILDREN AUDITIONS FOR “BEAUTY AND THE BEAST”
TO BE HELD AT DILLARD’S DEPT. STORE IN ATLANTIC STATION!

 

Theater of the Stars will hold auditions for children to play ensemble and chorus roles in a new production of “Beauty and the Beast” on Saturday, April 22nd at Dillard’s Department Store in the Children’s Department, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Registration is from 10-11 a.m. and children must be at registration in order to audition.  Atlantic Station is conveniently located at the 16h Street Exit of 1-75& I-85 in downtown Atlanta.  There is plenty of parking in the P-1 lot at Dillard’s.  For directions and more information about Atlantic Station visit their web site at www.atlanticstation.com

Interested boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 14 years old who sing and dance should bring two 8X10 head shots and resumes, with all contact information attached.  Head shots will not be returned.   Children should be prepared to sing songs from the show to audition, including “Be Our Guest.”  Musical accompaniment will be provided.  This audition is for chorus/ensemble roles, not principal parts.  Performance dates are Tuesday, September 5 through Sunday, September 10 at the fabulous Fox Theatre.  

Conducting these auditions will be Director Drew Scott Harris, Choreographer Norb Joerder and Children’s Music Director Bill Newberry.  Mr. Harris has directed over 150 productions including national tours of Jesus Christ Superstar and My Fair Lady, Roadside starring Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt in New York, and Guys and Dolls at the Alliance Theater in Atlanta. Norb Joerder’s credits include The Music Man with John Schneider and Annie Get Your Gun with Andrea McArdle.  Newberry is the Music Director for Camp Broadway and vocal coach for American Idol finalist Diana DeGarmo.
