ATLANTIC STATION TO HOST 2ND ANNUAL 17TH STREET ART FAIR

For Immediate Release

Atlanta - August 17, 2008. Atlantic Station, Atlanta’s live, work and play destination in Midtown Atlanta will host the second annual 17th Street Art Fair, Saturday and Sunday, September 27 & 28, 2008.  Over 100 artists and fine crafts booths will be showcased along the tree-lined streets of Atlantic Station’s Central Shopping District.  “The beautifully designed street  scape of Atlantic Station serves as an ideal backdrop for these exciting exhibitors’ heartfelt artistic expressions”, said Dann Jackson, Executive Director of The 17th Street Art Fair, LLC.

Artist and craftsmen will be setting up to exhibit and sell in a wide variety of work including oil painting, watercolors, mixed media, photography and digital art, manipulated through the use of computers.  “These are artists not usually seen in the Atlanta area, some coming in from as far away as California and the Pacific Northwest,” continued Jackson.  Inclusion in the festival is highly selective, requiring three rounds of jurying by note Atlanta area artists and gallery directors who met in early June to select the invited artists from hundreds of entrants.

In addition to the fine arts, fine crafts will be well represented including clay, fine handmade jewelry, sculpture, wood and metal crafts to name just a few.  The 17th STREET ART FAIR will open at 11:00 am Saturday, September 27 through 6:00 pm and continue on Sunday, September 28 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Many of the artists and craftsmen will be demonstrating their work throughout the show.  Admission is free to the public and parking is free for the first two hours in Atlantic Stations plentiful underground parking lots.

The 17th STREET ART FAIR gained early recognition with last year’s show being called “Atlanta’s new artistic success!” by the local media.  “We’re looking forward to another great show this year, bringing exciting new artwork to Midtown Atlanta’s art loving and buying public,” said Jackson.
